What Is ShieldTX
Shielded perpetual trading on Hyperliquid for professional traders.
What is ShieldTX
ShieldTX is a shielded execution layer for perpetual trading on Hyperliquid. It lets traders place isolated perp trades through fresh wallets while keeping the resulting positions, PnL, liquidation levels, and trading history from being publicly linked to the wallet that funded them. The trades still execute on Hyperliquid's native order book, with access to its liquidity, markets, and fills.
ShieldTX is built for professional traders whose public wallets attract attention. This includes fund managers, market makers, trading desks, institutions, and individual whales. These traders do not need another venue. They need a way to keep using Hyperliquid without turning every position into a public signal.
The product is designed to protect three things: a trader's strategy, the alpha contained in their trading patterns, and the reputation attached to a known wallet.
Why ShieldTX exists
Perpetual trading on Hyperliquid is transparent by design. Once a position opens, its size, direction, entry price, leverage, PnL, liquidation level, and history can be observed through public data. This transparency makes the venue auditable, but it also gives wallet trackers, copybots, competitors, and public commentators a live view into a trader's activity.
The exposure becomes more costly as a wallet grows in size or reputation. A profitable wallet can become a feed for copy traders. A market maker's inventory can reveal directional exposure. A fund's experimental position can be interpreted as a public conviction trade. A known trader's liquidation level can become a target.
ShieldTX reduces this exposure by separating the wallet that funds a trade from the wallet that executes and holds the position.
How ShieldTX works
The ShieldTX flow has three main stages.
- Fund your ShieldTX balance. Deposit USDC into ShieldTX. The deposit into the system is visible on-chain.
- Open a Hyperliquid perp through ShieldTX. A fresh wallet is funded for the trade, and the order is routed to Hyperliquid's native order book.
- Close and settle. When the position closes, the proceeds return to the user's shielded balance, separate from the wallet that held the position on Hyperliquid.
The position remains visible on Hyperliquid. What changes is attribution. An observer can see that a fresh wallet opened a position, but cannot directly connect that position to the funding wallet, its previous trading history, or the identity behind it.
What ShieldTX shields and what remains public
Shielded does not mean invisible. ShieldTX is designed to reduce public attribution around perp execution, not remove activity from public infrastructure.
| Shielded from a direct public link | Still visible on-chain |
|---|---|
| Positions tied to your main wallet | Deposits into the ShieldTX system |
| Position wallet tied to your identity | Solver and temporary wallet activity |
| PnL and liquidation levels tied to your main wallet | Perp positions on Hyperliquid |
| Order and trading history tied to your main wallet | Withdrawals from the system |
This distinction matters. ShieldTX is not a system for making on-chain trades disappear. It is an execution tool that limits the public link between a trader's known wallet and the positions they place through ShieldTX.
Who ShieldTX is built for
- Fund managers who do not want every new position or experimental strategy to become a public performance signal.
- Market makers that need to limit the trading intelligence competitors can derive from public inventory and position history.
- Trading desks and institutions that want shielded execution to fit into their existing operating setup, including API-based workflows.
- Individual whales whose known wallets attract copybots, whale hunters, and public commentary.
- Professional traders testing new pairs, hedges, or strategies before connecting them to a recognised wallet or mandate.
How ShieldTX differs from common alternatives
| Approach | What it does | Where it falls short for this use case |
|---|---|---|
| Manual wallet rotation | Spreads activity across multiple wallets | Funding paths, timing, amounts, and repeated behaviour can still create links. It also adds key, gas, reporting, and operational overhead. |
| Centralised exchange routing | Moves activity away from a public on-chain wallet | The trader gives up direct access to Hyperliquid and introduces a different custody and venue model. |
| ShieldTX | Routes isolated perp trades to Hyperliquid through fresh wallets | Built specifically to reduce the public link between the funding wallet and Hyperliquid perp positions. |
Does ShieldTX change execution on Hyperliquid
ShieldTX orders execute on Hyperliquid's order book. Traders retain access to Hyperliquid's supported perp markets, liquidity, price discovery, and fills. ShieldTX does not add a spread to the order. Its fees are displayed separately.
Shielding adds a delay of a few seconds between placing an order in ShieldTX and the order reaching Hyperliquid. That delay is part of the process used to separate the trade from the funding wallet. Traders should consider this when deciding which orders or strategies to shield.
Who controls the funds
ShieldTX is non-custodial. According to the ShieldTX trust model, funds are locked in a smart contract on Arbitrum, core operations are permissionless and verified by zero-knowledge proofs, and no admin key is required for those operations.
How to access ShieldTX
ShieldTX is currently onboarding traders through a private beta. Traders can request access to the application, while trading desks, systematic traders, and institutions can request API access for ShieldTX to fit into their existing workflows.
Frequently asked questions
Is ShieldTX a separate trading venue
Trades placed through ShieldTX are routed to Hyperliquid's native order book. ShieldTX provides the shielded execution layer around the trade.
Does ShieldTX hide the trade itself
No. The trade and resulting position remain visible on Hyperliquid. ShieldTX is designed to prevent a direct public link between that position and the wallet that funded it.
Does ShieldTX affect fills
Orders execute on Hyperliquid's order book and access its liquidity and fills. ShieldTX does not add a spread, although the shielding process introduces a delay of a few seconds and separate ShieldTX fees apply.
Which markets does ShieldTX support
ShieldTX currently supports every Hyperliquid perpetual market available through the product.
Can trading desks use an API
API access is available on request for selected teams and systematic traders.
